Tell us about what you do and what you’re working on lately?
I’m a Wellness Mentor! My mission is to help women find their power, their potential and their peace through tools and practices inspired by the yogic tradition. I teach yoga and meditation classes, offer life coaching and mentorship and – when the world isn’t in the midst of a global pandemic – I lead transformative retreats and teacher training programs abroad.
Right now, I’m working on a BIG launch for my Fearless Heart Method. The online group mentorship program is a deep dive that teaches you how to stop overthinking and start listening to what's in your heart so they can get clear on what you want, overcome resistance and obstacles that stand in your way, and take action towards making your dreams a reality.
Listening to my own fearless heart is what brought me to where I am today, so I can’t wait to help others transform their lives too!
Tell us a bit more about your work.
I offer both group and private yoga classes (currently all online) for people who want to improve their overall wellbeing, and 1:1 coaching or mentorship packages to people who are looking for clarity with their purpose in life. And of course, the Fearless Heart Method program for women who want to be brave and bold in creating a life they love.
I also have an online yoga, meditation and breathwork video series called “Befriend Your Self.” With beginner-friendly instruction, I guide you through different classes to help you check-in with where you’re at and return to a sense of ease and balance in your body and mind.
I had organized several retreats this year, but the global pandemic had other plans. My retreats in France and Spain will have to wait until 2021! Retreats can be really life-changing and I love leading them so much because guests are always so amazed at what they realize about themselves after dedicating a week of self-care and personal growth.
I love to connect with new people, so please reach out and say hi if any of this resonates with you! The best way for people to reach out and work with me is via my website at nicolecatenazzi.com or on Instagram @nameis.nicole.
Why did you get into the work you do?
In many ways, the work got into me. Yoga came into my life at a time where I was really unhappy in my job, feeling unfulfilled and that my life wasn’t particularly meaningful. The more I started practicing yoga, the more I started to question what I was doing, but at the same time, I was feeling empowered to make positive changes in my life. In the years that followed, I peeled back so many mental, physical and emotional layers that had been keeping me from seeing and knowing my true self.
Yoga, meditation and mindset work helped me realize that I am powerful, I have the capacity for ease and peace, and my potential is limitless. I want every woman to know and believe they have that too (because they do), and that’s what I’m here to do!
What is your key to managing stress?
Remembering my mission helps keep me focused on what I want and why I do what I do. It’s so easy to get caught up in other people’s lives, thoughts or emotions (hello, social media!) that we can sometimes forget that the only life we’re really living is ours. If I get stressed, I try to refocus on what I can control and take and actionable step or two towards what I want to create. Being well-rested, and staying connected with my loved ones helps too!
What's your favourite self-care practice?
My self-care looks like any combination of yoga, meditation, free writing, taking a nap, or curling up on the couch and binge-watching a show on Netflix.
Yoga is as much a spiritual practice as it is a physical one for me, so depending on where I’m at, I show up for myself either for asana, chanting, or to sit in meditation. Even though I can’t get to a studio right now, I’ve been able to practise different aspects of yoga with so many wonderful teachers online. Being able to take a variety of classes and courses from home is keeping me inspired and helps get me to my mat on days where I might otherwise opt-out.
What's your skincare/bodycare/beauty routine lately?
I’m very low-maintenance when it comes to beauty, but my favourite bodycare routine right now is showering in the dark at the end of the day. There’s something so nice about that experience...it feels like I’m washing off the day and I can crawl into bed with a clearer mind and more relaxed body.
Any faves from Clean Beauty House?
Sappho Essential Liquid Foundation in Leisha! I only really wear makeup for photo or video shoots and this is my go-to foundation to smooth out my complexion. I love that it’s breathable on my skin and that it’s vegan and cruelty-free.
Do you have any advice for other women in business?
You don’t have to do it alone. Surround yourself with people who support and encourage you. And do the same to support those who need it. Also, invest in yourself by working with coaches and mentors who can help guide you to where you want to be.
